CAB International pension scheme appoints Aon for administration

LONDON, 17 June 2021Aon plc (NYSE: AON), a leading global professional services firm providing a broad range of risk, retirement and health solutions, has been appointed to provide administration services to the CAB International (CABI) pension scheme.

CABI is an international, inter-governmental, not-for-profit organisation established by a United Nations treaty-level agreement that uses information and scientific expertise to solve agricultural and environmental problems across the globe. CABI’s 50 member countries, which include the UK, China, India, South Africa, Kenya, Jamaica and Canada, form an international network with each having an equal role in determining governance, policy and strategy. Its pension scheme has 1,250 members.

Kate Hardingham of Ross Trustees and the CAB International Pension Scheme Chair, said:

Having completed the transition of our pensions administration to Aon, we’ve been delighted with the management of the project, and we are excited to introduce Aon’s PensionLine web portal to our members to really enhance their interaction with the scheme. It was as smooth as any transition exercise I’ve been involved with, thanks to the hard work of the team, the regular reporting and the collaboration between Aon’s administration and consulting teams under their integrated client model.”

Gary Cowler, partner and co-lead, UK Pensions Administration at Aon, said:

“Aon has made a considerable investment in transforming its UK administration business in recent years and the success of that is reflected in securing appointments such as this. The CAB International scheme ran a comprehensive and transparent process in which we were able to bring the Aon team together in understanding the trustees’ and the scheme members’ needs.

“The trustees were keen to develop and improve the experience of the scheme members and to make a web portal the key element of that. We were able to demonstrate both the resilience of our administration services and that we can deliver a consistent and high-quality member experience.”
