ACIQS: Virtual Programme – Business Interruption Insurance - 04 October 2022 - Duration: 1.5 hours

The session examines how damage to commercial premises and property can result in significant delay and disruption to business activities, with consequent loss of revenue and, potentially, the business itself. These risks can often be mitigated by the arrangement of appropriate insurance and the presentation will include a look at what can be covered (and what may not be), together with a study of various extensions and additional covers that are available to businesses. The session also includes an explanation of key terms and concepts specific to this area of insurance.

ACIQS: Virtual Programme – Insurance, Law and Legal Liabilities - 21 June 2022 - Duration: 1.5 hours

The session will examine the main ways in which legal liability can affect companies, and where legal action and claims for compensation may be brought against firms for actions or omissions leading to injury and/or damage to third parties. The costs and payments incurred in such situations can often be indemnified by appropriate insurance and the presentation will include a look at what can be covered (and what may not be), together with a study of various extensions and additional covers that are available to businesses.

The session will examine the main ways by which this enduring risk to a company’s physical assets can be reduced by the arrangement of appropriate insurance cover. A variety of options are available and different exposures can be dealt with by a range of means. The presentation will include a look at what can be covered (and also what may not be), together with a study of various extensions and additional covers that are available to businesses.

ACIQS: Virtual Programme - Cyber Risk and Insurance - 18 November 2021 - Duration: 1.5 hours

The session will consider some of the risks faced by businesses in a world dominated by data and computers. All businesses, regardless of their size and type, are subject to risks of one kind or another and the discussion will include a look at how insurance and crisis management solutions can reduce the risks presented to companies’ reputations and balance sheets. We will examine the various means of mitigating these threats, including risk transfer via insurance, risk management and crisis response solutions.

Aon’s technical training team will examine the main ways in which legal liability can attach to senior members of companies, and where legal action and claims for compensation may be brought against these members in their personal capacity. Aon’s technical training team will provide an overview of Property insurance. The session will examine the main ways in which tangible assets (buildings, machinery/contents and stock) can be insured, and look at major underwriting considerations and the importance of correct valuations when declaring sums insured to underwriters. The session will also include an explanation of key terms and concepts.

Aon’s technical training team will provide an overview of the core principles of insurance followed by a brief review of The Insurance Act 2015 and its implications. You will have the opportunity to ask questions throughout the session and to interact with the training team.
