New Aon research:
What can insights from recent retirees teach your scheme?
At our 2020 Member Options conference, one attendee asked us the question “how do we know that members who access the pensions flexibilities don’t later regret it?”
It was a great question, and to deepen our understanding on the ways that individuals reach their retirement decisions, we commissioned research that focused on in-depth interviews with individuals who had retired within the last five years.
During these discussions the participants shared their experiences about their retirement journey including when, why and how they made their retirement decisions and what, if any, key changes they would make to their retirement experience if they had the chance. These insights are explored in this report.
